Q: Beginner's Fitness For The Average Guy

I just recently began writing a blog to help out men who just aren't happy with their physical fitness, but can't seem to get going on it. (Most of the information can be used for men and women, but later on down the road I will be posting workouts to build mass which might be more targeted towards the males). I will be posting every other day, and it is the beginning of my research for a DVD package I hope to be offering maybe in the next few months. I am open to any suggestions for posts and any questions. I am currently helping out a few of my friends at the gym, and I just love offering all the help I can give to individuals who want to better themselves.

LOL MMAFighter, nice one.

I think its a great idea, for me in Australia, there is not enough research available to people in form of workout DVDs or DVDs just explaining just what goes on inside the body and what not, It's kinda sad really, I guess for me because i am into fitness and training and stuff and doing courses i am uptodate but alot of people in the gym have really no idea as to how the body works the energy systems and and all that, i will be interested to see where u go with this and i would love to purchase it off you (indeed if it is for sale) Just so i can see what ur trying to achieve here Smile

Ur from Australia? That's cool. Some1 in my grade just moved to Washington state from Australia. Um, I would say general fitness goes something like this:
FIne motor skills:
1. Agility
2. Speed
3. Balance
4. etc
Pure fitness skills:
1. Muscle strength (weight lifting exercises like bench pressing is uusally the best)
2. Muscle endurance (bodyweight exercises like pushups are usually the best)
3. Cardio endurance
4. Flexibility
5. Body composition
6. Muscle explosiveness (clapping pushups/jump squats)
7. Lung capacity (I count it as general fitness since the navy seals count lung capacity and cardio endurance as energy systems and nobody in their right mind would not count cardio endurance as not being fitness, however, its probably not that applicable to the average person seeking to get in shape)
