On saturday january 26th, i went to a walk in clinic because my throat was so sore and I was unable to talk properly and swallow. The doctor looked at my throat and said I had strep throat and told me to take amoxicillin for 10 days. After 2 days of taking the antibiotics, my throat felt much better, but I did notice that one of my tonsils was becoming more swallen and white. So a week after I woke up and saw that from my shoulders and up I was covered in a rash. My mom took me to the walk in clinic again and this time it was a diff. doctor and he said that I had mono and that my rash should be better in a few days. So the next day I wake up and see that this time my whole body is covered in the rash and my face, hands, and feet were swollen. I imedietly went to the walk in clinic again and the doctor told me to take prednisone for 5 days. He told me that it will help get my rash better faster. So I have been taking the prednisone for about 3 days and so far the rash has gone off my face and neck.
I've been having trouble sleeping because the rash is sooo itchy, especially my hands and feet. I was just wondering if there are any other techniques into making my rash go away faster. And how long does the rash usually stay on the skin for? Its been 4 days since i first got the rash and it seems like its getting worse on my legs and arms. Im really scared that the rash wont go away. And I dont want to miss any more school.
