Hi All

I am totally new to this forum so Hi to all. I have a problem at the minute I have been bleeding between periods for about 4 months now and have terrible cramps with it (I am currently hugging the hot water bottle). I normally have very heavy periods with lots of clots and pain. I has seen my doctor and he arranged for a pelvic ultrasound and this was negative so he told me to hold of and see what it was like next month (this was in Jan). The bleeding started again yesterday and was heavier then it was before so I went to him again and he referred me to a gynae but I can't get an appointment with him til the 6th March and that was going privately. I am just worried about this has anyone any idea what it is? I'm nearly 32, had two miscarriages 7 years ago - unknown cause. My periods are very regular, lasts about 7 days and I have a 32 day cycle.

hi. i'm sorry i can't be of much help, but noone else had replied so i didn't want you to think you were being ignored!

i really don't know what this could be. but four months is an awfully time for this to have been happening, particularly since you are experiencing pain with it as well. i am very shocked to hear that the closest appt you could get is a month away!! and privately!! this is not good!! if i were in your position i would be really worried and i would be angry that more wasn't being done to find out the cause. i know there are waiting lists but i would have thought you would be given more priority than this. i would ask to been seen by a different doctor. one person's opinion wouldn't be enough for me. i might even call up the nhs helpline, or even ask a doctor question here on the board..?

i take it you are not on any hormonal contraception?

Hi Fiona

Thanks a lot for your reply I was feeling a bit ignored! You are right when you said I am not using contraception we will be trying for a child again late this year early nect year and I am loathe to take the pill which seems to be the only answer to any gynae probs because I want to give ourselves a fighting chance. I am really worried and annoyed that I have to wait so long and I can't use the NHS helpline as I am in Dublin. I will ask the dr here thank you for the suggestion.

Aine Cool
