husband's analysis shows no sperm

I am going through something similar and I feel your pain. My husband was just diagnosed with obstructive azoospermia (spelling) or somethimg like that. Did they say your husband is producing sperm? They can tell if everything seems normal from the blood tests.

Mine has a blockage and there is no sperm present in any samples. He's gone through the blood testing and everything is fine, no genetic issues. We are meeting with an IVF doctor in 3 weeks to discuss our options.

They tell us they can try to repair the blockage and look for sperm in the testes and do an IVF/ICSI at the same time, otherwise, if the blockage cannot be repaired we're looking at donors.

A light at the end of the tunnel right about now would be nice..

My husband and I went through the same thing. He was born without a "vas". So pretty much the sperm were trapped in the testicles with no way of getting out. We decided to try IVF....my husband had surgery to remove sperm from his testicles. They got 4 vials, then the clinic picked carefully thru them and got the healthest looking ones and fertilized my eggs. I had 4 eggs put in. I got pregnant, so it can work! Unfortunately later I misscarried but the is....IT CAN WORK.

My husband and I just found out that he is producing no sperm when he ejaculates. We are set to go to the specialist in Jan. Our doctor told us he might have some sperm in his testes, so they could extract it with surgery, otherwise we will need a donor. It is really scary and upsetting!! So I understand how you feel!

Wow so many people seen to have this problem, My husband and i are going through the same thing - it is so scary! Not knowing what to do and having little to know one to speak to. My family push very hard for us to have a child but due to there religin "if it dosent happen, its not ment to" so we cant say anything. I have looked into IVF ect and it is sooo expensive.

i am also in a same boat...no sperm in husband sample plus same concept of religion...
sometimes i am thinking why life become so hard...
i mean as a women u feel so down and plus all other family thinks that might be u r the one having problem..meanwhile u always had a dream to have a baby even before marriage. well who knows may be one day mairacle will happen...with Gods will

My husband has NO sperm...even in his testicles. He had a biopsy a couple of months ago where the doctor took 14 tissue samples and found nothing. You or anyone you know experiencing this??

My husband has the same problem and he went through a surgery where they didnt find any sperms too.
his doctor told him to take ALOT of vitamins C and E and to quit smoking.
we will follow up again in 3 months.

does anyone experince positive results?

The doctor who did the surgery (a male fertility specialist/urologist) said there was no explanation. Genetics test and hormone levels were normal. We are using donor sperm. Will be doing IUI #5 at the end of the month. Haven't had any contact with anyone experiencing the same thing. It's a little frustrating not knowing WHY and accepting that my husband was born this way!

I am sooo sorry for you guy's and gals, I will be praying for yous. I can be a donor if anyone needs me to, but will i also be able to see the baby? how does this work.

Hi I have gone through all aspects of this.

I am a 36 year old Male. 2 Years ago I had my sperm oount tested as we were trying for several years. The results showed no sperm. Retest confirmed. Saw a urologist, had a physical exam all seem right. Had hormones checked - some showed low. Was placed on testosterone patches, no change. Was referred to a endochronologist to check for a tunor on my pututary gland(no), had hormones testing to check for putuitary function all good. Had a Biopsy of my testicle (no sperm. genetic testing all fine. I am among the 1/3 of people that they really have no answer as to why this is happening. We are now exploring Adoption or Donor. Something needs to be done to speed adoptions. So many good people looking for children and so many children who need a good home. Celbs seem to be the only ones who can skip the line. The infertlity problem in men is definitily a cause of worry these days as much as female infertility..this could be largely because of increased stress levels (may be at office or any domestic instability factor)....i think it is very necessary to have a fit body and relaxed mind since the stress levels are so high that it can take a toll on your fertility...as far as treatment is concerned i have Heard about Bourn hall clinic a lot lately and I am also told that this clinic carried out micro TESE sucessfully which is the first time done in india.This is a very important test as far as male infertility is concerned .This procedure is usually done in patients who do not have any sperm within the ejaculate due to defective production of sperm. This may be due to previous testicular surgery, some previous medical treatment or a genetic problem. ....they have a branch in kochi and and another one in Gurgaon.

I have been googling away as my brother has a sperm count of Zero, he was told this was probably due to him having mumps as a teenager. He has obviously been devastated by the news and was told to consider adoption or sperm donor.
However he recently asked for a second opinion and was offered an operation where they went directly into his resevoir and amazingly found healthy sperm. They have gad 3 vials extracted and frozen for IVF.
Just thought I would post to show there is sometimes hope.. x

Myself and my husband went for our first ICSI consultation yesterday. They did another sperm analysis and my husband has gone from a very low amount of sperm 3 months ago to zero sperm yesterday. It was very upsetting. We have been referred on for the operation so hopefully it will happen soon but the Dr said that if it is non-obstructive then it is the end of the road for us having our own baby. Looks form the internet that there is 2/3 chance of them finding sperm in the operation. He had the genetic tests and they were normal.
Is anyone trying anything or been told what to take/do to increase any chances? He has been taking vitamins and supplements for about 4 months. He eats very healthy, does not smoke and has now gone from drinking very little to drinking nothing at all - any more tips?

Stress is not that much a factor for fertility issues but yes if the stress is far too much then it might affect the fertility.But scientifically stress is a very rare factor to become infertile.There are habitual changes if men perform regularly or as a protocol then men can gain their fertility back.

My partner got no sperm they checked for blockage and there is not one the test show he has the hormone to produce it and today they said the only way would be an op but its not garenteed but costs a lot but has anyone hade this before

We are fortunate to have a healthy 5 year old. We went back to the doctor to try for another but I don't ovulate & my husband has no sperm count. Is there anything that can be done. I don't think we can afford invitro especially if it may not work. I'm 34 & he will be 40 in May. Is there any hope for us? We really would love one more child. Cathy
