Q: Loestrin 24 Fe and missed period

I've been on the pill for awhile now. I'm 17 years old. I've been getting a little worried though because my periods are getting lighter and lighter. This month I didn't even have one! I had all the regular things when I get my period but it never came. I've been reading and it seems this has happened to alot of women. But it still is a concern for me. I would LOVE not to get my period but it's never happened before. Me and my boyfriend are always safe and use condoms. Should I be worried?

That's really common on Loestrin 24, that's kinda the point of it! If you're concerned, you can always take a pregnancy test at the same time you would've gotten your period (if it would make you feel better) but you don't have to.

So no, you should not be worried.

missed pills period on loestrin
I messed up this past month and forgot to take my pill 3 days in a row. Then had interc. without protection. I should have started by now. Tomorrow I am supposed to start my next month. Could I be pregnant? I have only been taking them 2 months.

Same thing, missed period, used condoms, never missed a pill!
I am worried about the exact same thing! I had sex 4 weeks ago, while on my birth control pill (LoEstrin 24), I have not missed a single pill this month, and I didn't get my period... I am freaking out! I have been on the pill for a year and a half now, my boyfriend and I are also always safe and always use condoms and always have sex while I'm taking the pill... I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative, tonight I started my new pack... reading all these other posts, it sounds like I shouldn't worry, but its still weird?? On Thursday, my first day on the placebos, i got cramping and started feeling like my period was coming, but it never did so I'm still wondering whats going on.

Missed Periords normal on Loestrin 24 FE
I have been taking LoEstrin 24 Fe for about a year and a half now. I got my period the very first month with it and haven't had it since. It is wondeful not dealing with a period. For a long time, I took a pregnancy test every month just to confirm that I wasn't pregnant, but now I don't worry about it as long as I don't notice any other symptoms and I know I've taken my pill properly. My Gyno says it's normal for some women to not have a period on this pill. My coworker also started taking it and she stopped having her period too.

ive been on loestrin 24 for about 3 yrs and since january i think i got a "period"...meaning brown discharge only three of those months (its the beginning of aug now). one month during my brown pills i had unprotected sex and i spotted 10 days later...which is a sign of pregnancy. so i took like 4 pregnancy tests during when i was suppose to have a period and all were negative. im not saying dont worry because u should always be when ur not being careful. just take the pregnancy test. **i think im goin to switch birth controls because it cant be healthy not having a period at all for months at a time**

loestrin 24 fe missed period
my girlfriend has been taking loestrin 24fe for about 5 months now, and since, she has always had a period, though they have all varied in severity. some have been very light, some have been very heavy. this month, however, she hasn't had a period. she said she felt some cramping, but nothing ever happened. she is now starting her next pack of the pill. she has taken 2 pregnacy tests in the past few days, but both have come up negative (not pregnant). should we be worried? we are both kindof freakin out.....can someone help us?

i'm not alone!
i'm so glad to see these posts from others on LoEstrin 24 Fe. i too had my period the first two months i was on it, and nothing, nada, nil since (entering my 5th month now). i just had my second child 5 months ago so you can imagine i freaked out i was when i thought, "oh no, I'm pregnant AGAIN, ALREADY?!" i took two pregnancy tests and both came back negative. i'm pretty attuned to what my body does when i'm pregnant and all of the symtoms that occur, so after reading about this missed period side effect, i'll just continue to take the pills and listen to my body and stop freaking out so much...in the meantime, i need to schedule that appointment for my husband to get fixed. Smile

well...this is an interesting pill. I started Loestrin 24 in may and this is my 3rd month on the pill. I've been taking it regularly and I've been getting my period a couple days after the brown pills started, which annoyed me because i never started on time...then this month, I didn't even start it at all, but i've been getting a lot of cramps like i should. I've been worried that i may be pregnant because i've never just completely missed a period. I start my new pack today and i still have cramps this morning. I'm hoping I get something, even if it's just breakthrough bleeding...I don't think i like this pill because it worries me! I'd rather get a period than not have one altogether! Glad i'm not in this alone!

I came on this site because I too am taking this pill and am on my 4th month of it. I had really heavy bleeding the first 2 months and last month it was pretty regular. This month, I was about a week and a half into the pack and experienced bleeding almost like I was getting my period. Now that I have started the brown pills, I'm not experiencing any bleeding. It really had me worried because I have an 11 month old already and we are not ready for another one yet. Reading all these posts, sets my mind a little more at ease, but I think I'm going to get a pregnancy test today just to be sure. And then I'm talking to my doctor and getting off this pill shortly. I don't like feeling worried like this because it's "suppose to be normal"

There's is no medical need to have a period when you are taking an oral contraceptive. I was on the Depo Provera shot for almost 3 years and had one period.

In March I started a generic pill that made me seriously ill. I went back to my doctor 3 months later and switched to Loestrine 24 beginning of June.

I had a period the 3 months with the previous pill, and the first month of Loestrine 24. I did not, however, get a period the second month. I did not start another pack of pills in August, and have not gotten my period (now 2 months later). I have taken 5 pregnancy tests since and still have a negative result. I'm not quite sure what to make of this.

Loestrin 24- missed periods
Ok, so I started Loestrin 24 in August and completed a whole pack including the placebo pills. Now I am onto my second month of pills (into the first week of second month) and still have not gotten my period. I am sort of freaking out, as is my boyfriend. We use condoms every single time! I guess i should probably take a pregnancy test, but still this is kind of worrisome.

I am glad to read that others are experiencing this, but this sort of sucks!

Worried and Confused
I have the same problem. I have been on Loestrin for 2 months now (Starting my 3rd pack in 2 days). The first month I had a period, although it was lighter than when I was off the pill. Now I'm on the brown pills of the second pack and have not experienced my period yet. I am feeling all the symptoms of a period though: cramping, headaches, fatigue, sore breasts...I don't know if I should be worried about being pregnant. My boyfriend and I are very careful and I have never missed a pill. Perhaps I should take a pregnancy test? Any advice will help! Thanks!

ok, so...
I talked to the doctor, she said to take a pregnancy test, to be on the safe side, but it was probably normal. It takes your body 3 months to adjust to any new pill. Also recommended to go back to be see the doc again in 3 months.

Safe side, take the test.

Hope this helps.

no period here
I had a mirena in, well it started to come out so i had it the rest of the way removed. They started me on loestrin 24fe... she told me the 1st month that i probably wouldnt get my period until i started my second month... well, we decided to try to have another baby, the second pack came to the sugar pills and i havent started my period yet.. its been about 2 or 3 wks since ive had the placebo pills and still havent started.. ive taken 2 p-tests both negative..I am confused.. because if i got prego while on this pill i will be upset.. yes i want another baby, but i dont want to have a chance that this pill might hurt my child if i am in fact prego.. I still dont know what to do....
