Make sure you read the directions carefully on your test before you take the test. With some of the tests, timing is pretty important. Some tests can show a false negative or positive if you've waited too long to read the test. You can get a false negative if you read too early.

The digital ones are pretty cool. I used one of those with my last pregnancy. Nothing complicated about them. With the lined ones, even a faint line means that you are pregnant...it just means that your hormone levels aren't as strong yet. Taking another one in a few days would give you a darker line and confirm your pregnancy.

If you think you got a bad test, just get another one. Almost any brand is ok, especially anything you pick up at a drugstore (I never really thought I should trust ones from the dollar store.)

If it was postive that fast (even if the line was faint) then yes it was postive. I would take another just to be safe or go in to the dr and have them either do a urine test or a blood test.

Any positive reading means you're pregnant, were very recently pregnant, or are taking a fertility drug containing hcg (the hormone produced only in pregnant women). So if you received a light positive result with a pregnancy test a day after your missed period within 3-5 minutes, I'd say you are definitely pregnant. First response early result pregnancy tests are some really sensitive ones that you can get at walmart, and if you wanted to take another test to be sure, Id suggest those. Digital tests are cool, but they don't detect lower levels of hcg like the FRER ones do, making it likely you will receive a false negative this early in pregnancy. FRER is like 95% accurate at predicting typical pregnancy levels one day before your expected period, so I'd really trust the result you get with those.

Congrats!!!
