I am planning going off Ortho Tri-Cyclen when I finish up this month's pills. I am not going off to become pregnant, I just prefer to go off of them since I have been on them non stop for almost 8 years and because I am not currently sexually active. Does anyone know what side effects I can expect once I stop taking my pills? Is there anything I can do to make going off of them easier? Thanks!

Really, you can just stop them! You shouldn't experience anything really, except a return of any things you used to experience before you were on the pill (cramps and pms). There shouldn't be any other side effects, just a return to your normal state. It might take a while, however, for your period to return to normal, and you might experience some pms type feelings while it regularizes.

I have heard that fish oil and primrose oil help with these things, or some gold old midol.
