If I don't have to, I don't watch the entire thing, but I do check in and see what the score is.. If my DH were home watching it I would have no issue with it being on without interuption. I like football, just not enough to watch 4 hours straight of it.
I also like the commercials. I wonder why we don't have really great commercials all the time

I watch it to be part of what he is watching.. But, if he was away I would only watch it knowing he was so we could talk about it. But if we where not together as a couple.. No, I would not watch it.. as I'm sure he would not watch a chick flick! And he does with me.

I don't watch it at all because I'm single, live alone, and don't have a TV... And have no real desire to watch it.

To be fair, I have watched a sport because my boyfriend was doing so. I don't mind, I enjoy it. Though at the wresting pay-per-views I ALWAYS fell asleep... right onto his chest lol XD
You can imagine 6 nerdy adult men - some of them "supersized" and one morbidly obese, squished into a room about eight by five, on one couch, one fold out chair and one easy-chair. I was the only female, and only there cause the boyfriend was there! And I do actually enjoy professional wrestling XD

I didn't get to watch it but I got to hear it on Sirius!! I don't mind football, it's definitely a pass time in which Earl is not on the computer, so of course I take advantage of it. I can't seem to listen to football by myself, so I went with him to work (truck driver) and we listened to it. We were on edge the whole time!! We are Dallas fans so we rooted for the team that took them out... GO GIANTS!! last minute of the game we were bouncing up and down, screaming, everything. Called his dad and basically screamed at him! He would do the same thing when we listened to a Dallas game.

I don't watch it. I don't even watch football unless I join my husband for a few minutes to rest (only TV we have is in the bedroom and not used very much.)
I do go online and watch the commercials tho. I thought most of them were kind of dumb this year tho.

This year I went to sing Karaoke instead, and had a much better time.

My husband is more of a car race, wrestling and rugby fan. Even if he were into football I'd be no more inclined to sit and watch it with him than I am to sit and watch his other interests that don't appeal to me. I don't expect him to watch Sex and the City with me and he doesn't expect me to watch the races with him. It's a mutual understanding.

What does gender have to do with liking the Super Bowl?
It is the single worst televised event of the entire year. It is a 4 hour commercial. It is a time where fat cat marketing execs pump out their "best" advertising knowing that, not only will they all be watched, but they will be praised for it.
Here is an idea, why don't we skip the super bowl next year and donate all of the ad money to charity.

Jacob, I think that in some circles of American culture it's a symbol of manhood. Even if a guy isn't interested in watching football he's pressured to do so because if he doesn't, people might think he's gay and we all know that being gay is ebil in US society.

Forgot to add, I'm from the South, so my experiences with macho chest beating may be more of a local pattern. I have no idea if men in northern states identify their genitals so strongly with the game or not.

I didn't even know which teams were going to the Super Bowl until Saturday, and that's only because people kept asking me who I was rooting for.
No, I didn't watch the game. I don't care about football. I saw a few of the commercials online, but I didn't care much about them either.
Come to think of it, Sunday was a bad day all around. I didn't care about much of anything other than the day ending.

Of course they do.
If by the game you just mean football, yes.
My school has a yearly ritual. Before the "big game", someone steals the mascot of our rival, marches it through town to our stadium(with the band, team, and faculty), and burns it.
How obnoxious and unnecessary is that?

Please tell me that none of these mascots were ever live animals.
