Prostrate Cancer Risk From HPV Exposure Posted: 02-03-08 17:33pm
On going onto a website which had data
from the Center for Disease Control in
Atlanta, there was information that HPV
can present risk for men in penal and anal
cancers.
I good friend, whose wife died 20 years
ago from cervical cancer, now has been
diagnosed with prostrate cancer of medium
agressiveness. He is undergoing radiation
therapy.
What are the high risk types that men are
subject to?

HPV types 16 and 18 are not associated
with prostate cancer, but soame studies
have shown that there is a possible
association between HPV 33 and prostate
cancer (significant excess risk for
subjects with high antibody levels against
HPV 33)

Beautiful, tallented, she was runner up
for Miss Oklahoma, he was a Naval pilot
who became an airline pilot for TWA and
travelled a lot.
HPV 33 and prostate cancer showing
significant excess risk for subjects with
high antibody levels against HPV 33, is
that the same thing as being super
sensitive to bee stings and you body will
almost kill you in the process of trying
to protect you when you are stung?
How do I learn more about this HPV 33?

about HPV 33 and the possible link to
prostate cancer, so I searched: high
antibody levels against HPV 33 and
immediately came to a site: Prostate
cancer, risk and serologic evidence of
Human Papilloma Virus.
It is apparent that sexual activity and
choice of partners does play a factor.

I'm glad you find some informations.
It's good to know that HPV types 16, 18,
31, 33, and 39 have a higher risk of
progressing to cancer and that 70% of
cervical cancer cases are linked with
types 16 and 18.
Serology results provides informations
about the cumulative exposure to the virus
(people with high antibody levels for HPV
have been longer and more often exposed to
HPV virus)
