Hey Y'all....I'm writing this with a heating pad on my stomach...I'm having the worst cramping in my entire life. I'm 25, in good health, have very normal periods, and very rarely experience cramps. When I have had cramps in the past they were very light and only lasted a couple of hours. Last night... I was awakened by horrible blindingly painful cramps. I went to the restroom and realized that I had started, I was not even expecting my period until next Fri so that is also unusual. I took a muscle relaxer but I was still unable to get any sleep because the pain has been so intense. I've been expirencing heavy bleeding and this morning when I went to the restroom and passed a very large clot (sorry if TMI) like the size of lime. I don't know what's going on or if I should call the doctor or not. I had an annual scheduled for Wens. which I guess I'll have to cancle now because this period came so early. Dose this sound dangerous to y'all or should I just calm down and not worry. Its just that I've never experienced a heavy painful period like this.

The cramps have subsided, but I'm still bleeding pretty heavy. Any ideas why all of this would happen just out of the blue? Do y'all think it sounds like cysts?

It could, the symptoms do sound similar to the symptoms of cysts. However, if it was a cyst, it's not really dangerous, as long as you're not losing too much blood.

A doc would find a cyst during your pelvic exam if it hasn't gone away.

Thank you so much for responding. My mother said that I could be having a miscarriage although I doubt I was pregnant, hubs and I have been using condoms. In fact my app. on Wen. is a consultation to have Paragaurd. My last period was normal....light, no cramps, 4 days. Uggg I'v never felt like this before...I will deffinately discuss this with the Dr. Thank you again, I have been very worried.

thats the 1st thing that came to my mind..a miscarriage. but if u know that u and ur husband have been using condoms ever time.. then u can rule that out.
i had the same sort of thing happen to me when i had a miscarriage. i had horribleee cramps and i passed a clot but mine was only about the size of like one of those little cherry tomatos. it wasnt relle small but it deff wasnt as big as urs.. idk i hope u get some answers from ur dr. and keep us posted! =] go0d luck

Went to the doctor today and she said that everything seemed normal and that she would let me know what the pap results were. Hmmm....oh well maybe I just experienced a fluke heavy period? Anyways, I also got all the information for Paragaurd, and after pap comes back I'm going to set up an appointment to have the IUD inserted. This was not the best day....horrible severe weather this morning AND a trip to the gyno......hubs better be extra sweet tonight!

Could be a fluke, or, hopefully it was a fluke!

Good luck with the IUD!

Thanks! There were uncomfirmed reports near my house, but the majority of them were in central-north Alabama, I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. We had strong winds, lightening, and hail.
