Q: Laparoscopic Hernia Complications?

My father underwent laparoscopic hernia surgery about three days ago. The hernia was caused by a gastric band that he had (put on a number of years ago), which had tightened it's grip to a point of real discomforture.

Now he is experiencing severe bloating and lots of excess gas in his abdominal area. Today is wednesday and he doesn't have a folow up appointment until friday. Should we attempt to see the docor beforehand? He is in so much discomfort and pain. He is restless and can't sleep.

Advice is welcome.
Thanks.
