Buzzing sound in right ear when certain sounds are heard Posted: 02-02-08 23:30pm
When listening to music, certain note
combinations (i.e certain chords) create a
buzzing in my right ear. One weird thing i
need to point out is that odd enough - the
buzz doesn't get stronger if i turn the
volume up.
I am seeing a doctor right now. I already
did a hearing test (that showed i'm not
losing my hearing) and the timpanometry
showed my right ear drum is a little
loose, but the doc says that has nothing
to do with my condition. I really would
appreciate another opinion as the doctor
I'm seeing seems he doesn't have a clue
what it is, and the situation seems to be
getting worse - Now there are also some
notes that produce the same response on my
left ear, and my right ear is getting
worse (I'm a musician so I remember what
chords make the buzz and check it on the
piano everyday).

Get earplugs - there are molded ones that
cut all frequencies equally. I have a pair
and almost never leave home without them -
use them at concerts, movie theaters, when
I play guitar etc.

I have exactly the same symptons Posted: 09-22-08 07:56am
Hi- I have had the exact symptons for more
than three years..
Like bulk001 suggested, my doctor gave up
and told me to use
the "musicians ear plug". But it does not
solve the problem,
and I really would like to know what
causes these problems.
Do you have any lead? TMJ forum here seems
to have something
in common..I did all the hearing test,
MRI..

I have had the exact same symptom in my
right ear for a number of years. I have
done the hearing tests and have no hearing
loss. An additional problem for me is that
earplugs do not always help. I can plug my
ear, sing specific pitches and still hear
the buzzing. Have any of you found any
answers?
