My mom gets reoccuring UTIs. She often
complains of bad cramps and there is blood
in her pee. She's 40+. Does anyone know
what works to prevent these infections?

She might want to investigate interstitial
cystitis but in any case she absolutely
must be seen by someone if she has not
already done so as it could be any number
of things.

It is possible your mother is not being
treated with the proper antibiotics.
Also IC suckers mentioned is a
possibility. Many doctors over look this
or don't believe it is an issue.
Does she have any flank pain? Having blood
in the urine can also indicate a possible
stone floating around which can cause more
problems. Did any doctors do an ultrasound
or CT scan to check for stones?

Hmmm ... I was wondering why people kept
referring to me as 'suckers' so I did a
bit of searching around and it seems that
every time you type 'a' followed by 's'
followed by 's' again (not necessarily in
the same word) the word 'suckers' will
come up, presumably because somoen in
their superior wisdom thought we were
trying to type A-S-S!
Let's try it: As soon as she woke up, she
was so cold!
