missed pills and heavy period
Posted: 02-02-08 14:19pm

Hi
Last December i miss 2 pills in two weeks but i took in the next day. My period should come on 01/16/08, but it came 5 days early. When i bleed my period came with large clots it last for 3 days which are the days the period last. This week i got some brown spots and today it is like i having my period however this time it is 9 days early from my next period. I went to the doctor and took a pregnancy urine test and it was negative but the doctor wanted to take me the pregnancy blood test. I have to wait for couples day for the result. Is it normal that my period get irregular becauses of the missing pill or i could be pregnat and i got miscarriage withou knowing. I hope you can help with my concern.

Thank you

You're fine. It sounds like the two forgotten pills were not in a row. One missed pill in a row is nothing to stress about. You did exactly what you should have done. It's most likely they just messed up your cycle a little.

Birth control does NOT cause miscarriages.

Yes, you could become pregnant. You'll have to wait two weeks before you can test. I'd suggest getting Plan-B on Monday.

Plan B is also sometimes called the morning after pill. It is an oral emergency contraceptive which can be taken if you missa pill, your condom breaks, etc to help prevent pregnancy. It stops an egg from releasing and can prevent the fertilized agg from implanting on the wall.
