Q: Ear pain and sinus congestion

I have had severe sinus congestion for the past week now. The sinus congestion has been accompanied by a constant sharp pain in one of my ears along with the feeling that the ear is entirely blocked up. I cannot hear out of that ear at all and, without ibuprofen, the pain is very hard to manage. Should the ear pain subside once the congestion clears up or is it unrelated and requiring treatment seperately?

Sounds like your eustachian tubes are infected and this is what's causing the earache. You will need antibiotics. Meantime, take a painkiller and try steaming your face. I sympathise with you as i have a recurring sinus /earache probleml
