normal MRI infant epilepsy Posted: 02-01-08 22:11pm
Hi, I have been in the hospital for five
days with my five month old son. A month
ago he started having seizures and was put
on phenobarb. It started at 20mg and went
up to 50mg and that was still not helping
his seizures after 4 weeks. WE have been
in and out of the ER four times since
then. He has now been put on topomax and
phenobarb. He just had an MRI at the
hospital and it came back normal. His EEG
however shows abnormalities in both his
right and left side. My son also has
developmental delays. He is not smiling
much yet or playing with toys. This has
been so difficult. Does any one have
similar stories? I love him so much and
want so much for him. His diagnosis is
infant epilepsy but the cause of siezures
is unknown.
