How long does it take your period to come on when you're taking Provera?

When I was on Provera I didn't have a period at all. After surgery (which I took the provera to prepare for it) I was on Provera and another hormone pill to get the period started again. So basically I had to have another pill to get mine started back up again. But maybe that's just the route my specialist goes....who knows. Sorry if this doesn't help much. I just know I had a lot of side-effects on provera that I wasn't supposed to have, hopefully that doesn't happen to you (besides weight gain, I had hot flashes like you wouldn't believe, migraines, shrinkage of the vagina, etc.)

It all depends. You can never tell.

I've take provera many times before (as well as prometrium) and it has effected my differently everytime.

This last time (just this month) I was rxed a 14 day cycle (horrid) and actually started af on day 12. So you just never know. In the past though it is normally 2-3 days after my last pill. Unless it doesn't start at all....

Good luck. I hope the side effects have been minimal!

Why do you have to take birth control? If you don't mind me asking.

Does she know you are ttc?

I've heard of taking it for 2-3 months to regulate your cycle. Or maybe you have a cyst that they are trying to shrink?

That is why they gave you birth control. The only way to treat pcos is birth control. So if you aren't ttc, you should be on birth control. But if you want to ttc, birth control isn't in your best interest. Are you ttc?

how can you treat pcos when you're ttc? yes I am or was ttc but since i stopped ovulating i figure there was no chance and it would be pointless for me to continue.

It depends on the severity. There are a few different meds that you can be put on to help with symptoms and to make you ovulate. If you have already been diagnosed, you could probably just call them and tell them you want a prescription for something. (probably like Metformin, and clomid or femera) They might want to see you, but I can't see them making you do to many test if you have already been diagnosed.

Hey Christy, I've decided to stop ttc and just get better and when I'm done with the bc we'll just start back up again. So, I'm okay with it. thanks for your help!
