Q: What Can I Do to Help?

My mom is scheduled to have a hysterectomy may 11 (right after mother's day). I was wondering how I could best be a help to her as she is recovering. I'm 24 and I work most of the day, but my evenings are mostly free. What is the best way to help her recover quickly?

Lots of Help
Hi,
she will need a lot of help, she will need to rest and not be getting in and out of bed a lot. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago and didnt have much help and I am healing up slowing simply because I didnt have much help, she will not be able to mop, sweep, vacuum or pick up anything more than 5 pounds. She will need to lay down most of the time.
Good luck to you and your mom!!
Take care,
pat

Hello hexx,

you are so sweet wanting to help your mom Smile I wished I had a daughter like you(well I dont even have one) (but I do have boys)!!
Just love your mom, clean up things, and cook some nice meals. Let her rest as much as possible.Make her comfortable. These are the best things you can do for her Smile she will be just fine with all your help.
God bless
rachel
