I'm currently using a 24" LCD screen
(1280x800 resolution, larger fonts) from a
viewing distance of about 80 cm (31
inches). I'm thinking of switching to a
big TV LCD screen of 37" or 40" (while
keeping a similar resolution like
1280x800, larger fonts) which I intent to
use from as far as I can (2 or more
metres).
1. What do you think? Is this solution
better for trying to stop progress of
myopia, as the screen will be at a larger
distance?
2. If I stay with my current 24" LCD
screen, do I have to use my glasses
(-2.50D concave and -0.50D cylindrical)?
And how far should I stay from my screen?
Thank you

Myopia and astigmatism are refractory
disorders of the eye with unknown
etiologies, or causes. The appearance and
progression of these eye disorders do not
depend upon the type of work yo do.
Nonetheless, you should use your glasses
no matter the screen size or distance you
sit from a n LCD screen because without
the glasses, your eyes will be under
greater strain. I can only recommend that
you use anti-reflex glasses because they
protect your eyes from UV-rays.
Furthermore, it is believed that contact
lenses can prevent or slow down the
progression of myopia. For more
information, you can consult an
ophthalmologist.
