Hello,

I am a female in my mid 20's. I was diagnosed with crohns about four years ago, and had no symptoms(such as bleeding and fatigue) until this year.
I also started having sex this year and I am wondering the two things are related?...I also have also started to have pain during sex lately and have been bleeding a lot more.
What can I do to reduce or get rid of the pain and bleeding without using the medication?

Thank you.

Are you sure that the pain during sex is due to the crohns? From what I read, I didn't really see a connection, but I'm not too educated in crohns.

I'm just thinking that if you recently started having sex, you might want to rule out other causes like lack of lubrication (use store-bought lube) or any gynocological issues. Are you having bleeding during or right after sex, and is it bleeding from your vagina or in your digestive tract?

I think you should definitely mention it to the doc who is treating you for crohns, and if you rule out other common causes of painful sex, (rough sex, lack of lubrication) then you might want to see a gyno as well.

I have Crohn's as well as Interstitial Cystitis and the IC causes pain during sex. I'm not sure that it's common to cause bleeding though. Just very painful during and especially the day after. If i were you, I would see an OBGYN though and then if they don't find anything, a Urologist. I hope you find some relief!!

Crohns disease
I have Crohn's disease and I have learned that it all depends on where your chrons is located. My Crohns is located on the top edge of my colon which for me can make sex very painful. One minute all is great, the next I feel like I got sucker punched in my gut. I have never been into rough sex so I know that for me that is not the cause of my pain. However I have been too embarrassed to talk to my doctor about it. But if you got the guts for it (ha ha) I would talk to your Gastroenterologist and your obgyn depending on where you are bleeding. If you are bleeding from your stomach I would say you need to see you gastro asap, the bleeding could be a very bad sign.
