hi, I was just told that my implanted icd was about to come thru the skin and present a large problem with my mech av., infection. I've tentively been scheduled for admmit to hosp. next week
I'm afraid it may erupt sooner causing infection of my valve and, possibly, much worse. Can you give me any good ideas on this rare occurrance?
thanks

Not exactly sure, but I found this article that might help you:

"Around 9% of ICD Patients Have Noninfectious Complications"

Good luck ... let us know how it goes at the hospital...!

I am so sorry you are going through this. I received my ICD 2 years ago without complications. I don't have any advice except stay strong and remain positive. Please let us know how you make out. Will be thinking of you. Best of luck.

Thanks for writing. I did get my device repositioned by a different ep. He was not too happy the way it was originaly implanted.
Everything's going great. no more problems, [ I hope].
Take care,
jrod

ICD Problem
Hey Jrod,

I am having similar problems with my ICD. Did you in fact have an infection? If so, did they have to remove all of your leads along with the device? Sorry if I am being a bit to prying, but I'm just wondering what to expect.

Thanks,
RG

PS- hope all is well now!
