I've been suffering from migranes for some time, and finally went to see a Neurologist. We went through a lengthy examination, and he cconfirmed that he does indeed believe that I suffer from migranes. He then went on to tell me that he does not prescribe " narcotic painkillers " my PCD has been prescribing me a number of different opioid painkillers. Although they do make me a little drowsy, they certainley do help aleviate the pain, and I'm quite dissapointed that he refuses to prescribe these meds that are classified to help us. Am I wrong to think this way, is Imitrex enough to controll all pain issues by itself. Please advise !!!

Imitrex is used as acute treatment of migraine attacks and provides relief of pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound without causing drowsiness.
On the other side narcotic painkillers will affect your balance, coordination, and your ability to think.
Imitrex is not habit-forming and you'll remain active, alert, and in control.
Narcotics can cause you drug dependency.

What form of Imitrex you are taking?
