Could This Be a Seizure? Posted: 04-28-04 16:15pm
2 yrs and 5 months ago I had an episode.
I had just wrecked my car and got off the
phone from a disturbing call. I was
walking down the hall in my house and saw
my arm swinging to my side, it felt like
it was not attached to me and the site of
my arm made me mad like it was nerve
racking to see my arm. I then was telling
a family member about my phone call and my
vision went blank and came back but the
upper half of my vision looked fuzzy like
a static t.V with flickers of millions of
lights. My speech came out wrong I was
trying to ask someone why they didnt turn
in their home work but instead I said
something like why did they get off the
bus. I could not say what I wanted the
wrong words were coming out. I then felt
extremely confused and got very scared an
was afraid to talk. I was rushed to the
emergency room there they wanted info like
my phone number and address I could not
recall any of my personal info, and was
confused of where I was. 1 or 2 hours
later it was over and I had an extreme
headache. I was then told I had a migrain
and take tylenol. Last night this
happened again when I was driving home. I
had to pull my car to the side of the
freeway it was late so no traffic. I got
out with the intentions of walking to a
phone but I was confused and walked myself
lost for about and hour, when the thing
ended I found a gas station and called a
friend to pick me up. She offered to take
me to the hospital but my head hurt too
bad to wait in a er room. She took me to
my car and I went home. I have a doctor
appoinment for the end of next week. I am
very scared what is happening to me, I am
afraid I am losing my mind and want to
know if anyone els has ever heard of
anything like this and can you tell me
what to expect?

If you are still here, or look upon this:
i too have the symptoms that you do. I
go through spurts with them, and they have
lasted for 6 yrs. The longest I go
through the spazim is around 8 hrs.
Doctors (multiple) have not discovered
what is wrong with me. If you get an
answer, please let me know.
I have been told it may be mini-strokes,
but I have no signs of them. So I was
told possible seizures, also, however I
have never blacked out.

Seizures? Posted: 06-25-04 04:44am
Yes, you could have seizures . Don't
self-diagnose yourself though, I have been
on medication for them for almost twenty
years. Mine started the same way.
If you can remember when they happen, keep
track of them and how long (if possible)
they last. Then you can tell your
doctor.
When you see your doctor, if they try to
blow it off, ask too see a neurologist!
Keep in mind that you fry your brain a bit
each time you have one, so it is important
to get help.
I hope I didn't scare you, I just want you
to know how serious it can be.
Good luck!!

I am eplileptic (have seizures) since I
was a child. There are many types of
seizures, I dont experience what you do,
but that could very well be seizures. It
could also be another type of neurological
problem. I have also experienced a
strange "headache" type experience where I
couldnt see for a moment except for bright
crystaly lights and rainbow colors.
I strongly advise that you see a
neurologist as soon as possible. If it is
something serious you want to catch it as
soon as possible. I also suggest that you
try not to drive as much as you can until
you have a control on this, you could
seriously injure yourself or someone else.
I know its easier said than done. Best
of luck to you.
And try not to be too scared, the unknown
can be very confusing and scary. But
There is almost certainly someone out
there who knows what is happening to you
and can help.
