A Little Something Posted: 01-30-08 13:06pm
Katie's beautiful poem made me want to
post something I recently wrote.
I wrote it for Kory.
It's called Snowshoes.
"Refreshing winter winds whispered her
name. There were bells in the undertones
of the breeze, & she laughed aloud.
She didn't know where the day would take
her- it didn't worry her. She was
limitless. The sky was a bright gray. Snow
exploded suddendly from the clouds. She
ran along the trees, her scarf trailing
from her neck. She went where the storm
went. It was the way it'd always been. She
often felt invisible, & surprisingly,
she didn't mind. She preferred to keep a
watchful eye in secret. The cold swept her
off her feet, & she was flying-
standing perfectly still. The snowflakes
nestled elegantly in contrast against her
hair. Inhaling, exhaling, hearts beating,
eye lashes fluttering- she looked up &
was greeted by his soft smile. Her fingers
were white with cold, & she was
falling fast. She lost her stomach every
time eye contact was made. She was anxious
& restless. She sighed & watched
her breath take it's time floating
upwards. Her eyes radiated affection as he
stepped towards her. She was nervous,
& god, she loved it."

Oh my. That is SO excellent. You are so
good at expressing your feelings. That is
beautiful, did Kory read it?

Oh yes, that time in 'love' when we write
poetry...
Then, somehow, you find yourself with the
same man 14 years later and no more poems
and no more dates... just life. Not
filling you the same way it once was. Not
overflowing and feeling ready to burst. It
just is. It isn't any less. It is more. It
doesn't feel so necessary to define - or
shout about. It is everything and it
doesn't need declarations and promises. It
has fullfilled itself.

lol!!!!!!
Well, after almost 12 years, every now and
then a song will come on the radio in the
car that will make me think of my DH, and
I'll get that "tingly" feeling.

Tell me what time in your lives together
those songs remind you of... Are they
songs from when you first started dating?

No, he hasn't.
I'm usually kinda private about what I
write.
I don't want him to think I'm a pyscho.
LOL!

Things are a little better today.
The day before yesterday, he seriously
lost his mind.
I'm not going to get into it, really.
But he completely lost it.
He was super out of line.
But we've talked a little bit,
& we'll be alright.
We just want to be good parents.

Oh, that's not good.
At least you know that you both want the
best for Gabe, no matter what.
I am glad things are progressing.
I am also glad that this Kory is treating
you so good and makes you feel like
writing!
