I've been diagnosed with fibro but have no one to talk to. Hope someone can help. . . my bouts seem to come in cycles. They occur after a few days of feeling "off" (it's this overall rotten feeling, like I've got the flu without a fever, along with extreme restlessness.) The pain, tiredness, headaches then last for several weeks. Is this common?

On the other hand, I have doubts that the fibro diagnosis is correct given the attitude of the dr. who diagnosed me. After reading my chart, I got the impression she gave me the diagnosis to shut me up.

Other symptoms: tremor, muscles jerking, dropping things, numbness, tripping over my own feet, bumping into things, losing balance . . .

Has this been your experience?

So far, none of the doctors feel it is CFS.

I just changed PCP's in order to get a referral to a neurologist. The new PCP prescribed Lyrica but, after research, I've decided not to take it until I see the neurologist in March.

Not a good feeling
I am very sorry to hear that the doctor gave you a diagnosis to shut you up.
It sounds as if you had not gotten a full exploration.
It sounds as if some things have been missed. YOur symptoms are not sounding classic fibromyaglia. Do you have any family history of neurological disease or heart disease?

Please tell me some more information about your symptoms maybe I can help

Not a Good Feeling
Unfortunately, the knowledge of my family history only goes back to my Grandmothers. My Dad and I both have migraines, that's the only neuro connection. One Grandmother passed from a stroke. She also had heart disease. Mother has heart disease.

What kind of info are you looking for regarding the symptoms? I know I've talked to some fibro sufferers and no one I've spoken to has the flu-like symptoms at the onset of an episode.

One thing that bothers me is the muscle weakness. I went grocery shopping this morning and as the cart got heavy I had trouble finishing my shopping. Half of my groceries remain in the car, too. I've made two trips and will wait to get the rest brought in when my husband comes home. I don't get winded, or physically tired. I can only describe it as being muscle fatigue.
