Bikini Shaving Tip
Posted: 04-28-04 09:59am

Hey...For anyone having problems shaving their bikini area, a great thing to use is hair cholesterol. It works so great! The venus razors also work awesome for shaving down there. You can get cholesterol at any grocery store or beauty supply store, it's really cheap for like a tub of it. It works great for shaving legs and underarms too. Just put it on and leave it for a few minutes after a hot shower and then shave. You can shave the entire area, if you know how to contort yourself so you can reach! Sure, you use a lot if you shave every day, but it's cheaper than shaving cream and the shave lasts longer - it doesn't have any alchohol or soap in it. Trust me ladies, try it! I know there are a lot of girls (including me) that hate pubic hair and having razor burn and stuff - this relieves it a lot, for me at least, and I have pretty sensitive skin. So good luck for anyone that wants to try it.

Hair cholesterol? Where in the store would it be? That sounds awesome! I have not found anything so far that really worked for me. Thanks for the tip! :d

Hey I have another question. It may sound crazy, but we don't have an african-american section at any of our local walmarts. I tried to look online for hair cholesterol and cannot find it.
Can you tell me who makes it or anything. I don't mean to be a pain, but I really want to try it and I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks!

I googled 'hair cholesterol' and all I found was a brand of conditioner called hair cholesterol, and it was a deep therapy stuff... So maybe thats all it is? Confused

That could be....I may just have to look harder. Plus, I forgot she said you could get it a sally's. We do have one of those. I will have to look.
Thanks cherry.

to Shave Or Not to Shave

Okay, on a related topic...What proportion of women out there shave/wax etc?

I've managed to live most of my life with just the occasional tidy around the edges during bikini season, maybe a trim every few weeks to keep things neat (and once I bleached it, just to see how i'd look as a natural blonde!).

Now, my current partner is very insistent on having things bare. He's very keen on providing oral sex, so I do like to keep him happy down there! But he's implied that most women he's been with have shaved or otherwise depilated. That hasn't been my experience -- none of my friends do the totally bare thing, and when i've been in the changing rooms at the gym, i'm sure I never noticed any either. Personally, I think it looks pretty weird shaved -- sort of prepubescent and naked. And the stubble is bloody irritating, so I have to do it all the time! (and I ain't gonna try waxing for no one!).

What's the view on this????

I shave it all most of the time. It's scary and takes time, but my hubby prefers that it be all gone. I don't like to do it with a new razor, so most of the time I just shave my legs first and then clean up. I thought it would be harder than it actually is though. I like to have it neat, but with 3 kids I don't always have the time. But my suggestion is...Don't use cream or anything, use a lubricated razor, and shave in the shower.

Good luck,

Its not actually an african american section but if you look down where they keep all their hair products, you will see it. It is a tub and it will have a black woman on it lol anyway I use some products like that too. I use lusters pink sheen spray I love it. Its like conditioner in a spray and mostly black women use it for like dry hair. I have naturally curly hair so when I dont have time to wash it, I just spray a lil and it makes it sooo soft and helps tames my frizzies. And that cholesterol does work great my sis uses it and its awesome it makes everything extremly soft. I almost forgot about it but thanks for bringing it up now I can get some cuz I like to shave down there but then somtimes I dont cuz I hate the razor burn I get I have very sensitive skin. Its gettin kinda hard to shave down there lol cuz of my preggy belly lol its hard to see what im doing and im scared ill cut myself. ~ erica.

Be careful with that, erica. You bleed a lot more down there when you are preg.

Poopoo, i, when I was like 18, my fiancee wanted me to shave down there. I told him if he wanted to be with an eight year old that he could go find himself an eight year old.
Well, needless to say a couple of years later I ended up shaving it because I am very hairy and no matter how much I shaved of my bikini line it was just never enough.
I love it! I will never go back. However, it is a pain in the rear end to shave it. I get razor burn like crazy. It is bumpy and itchy and drives me nuts. But, I am going to try to find that hair cholesterol and see if that helps.
Someday when I am rich, haha, I am going to have it removed permanently. That would be heaven!

So basically a hair conditioner works better than shave gel? Or just those few types thats been mentioned on here (hair cholesterol, lusters pink sheen)? Ive been shaving everything for a few years now, but I can't do it more than once a week or I get razor burn so bad, and eventually many ingrown hairs. I would like to keep everything nice for my boyfriend all the time because I know he prefers "bushless" ( Embarassed ) but with shave gel I just can't.. And having sex with a few days growth does not feel so good Confused . So would any conditioner work, or just some specialty ones that I probably won't be able to find anywhere here because the city I live in has nothing for shopping?

Thanks all!
