Hello, i wasnt really sure what category to start a new topic in. This looked like my best bet.

My question is in regards to a cut I recently had. I cut my skin open between my thumb and index finger on my right hand. I never went to the doctor. It was definitely deep enough for stitches. It is now 2 days down the road. I basically just want to know what is the best way i can get this to heal and also the best way to keep it clean. I am keeping it closed. So as of right now, there is no infection. I would like to prevent that. Thank you for your time!

Chris

I would definately suggest making a visit to the Doctor.

He would more than likely give you a tetnis shot and some advice and medication to help it heal faster.

I know it's not the same thing, but my sisters mother-in law had a dog bite and even though she did have it stitched up, it turned very nasty. Apparantly some wounds get worste if you keep them closed and actually needs to be drained first before being stitched up or closed up.
