I have a question. If a husband and wife wishes to have children, and the wife has thyroid and the husband's mum has thyroid, how likely is the children of this husband and wife to have the same illness?

Would appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks!

It all depends on the genetic dominance. It would be more likely in this case since both husband and wife have histories or thyroid problems, but it impossible to tell who would or wouldn't have the problem, or if it showed up at all.

hi...both grandparents on my maternal side, as well as my mother have thyroid problems. I do too...I have 2 siblings and neither one have it. I have 2 children, ages 3 and 6 weeks. They are both too young as of yet to know if they have it.
