Q: facelift recovery help

Is there anyone who is recovering or has recovered from face and neck lift surgery? I am having some problems and would like to talk to someone who may have had the same problems.

1. swelling that is hard in the jowl area. Also a hard line that goes down the left cheek and stops at the swollen jowl area.

2. Skin left loose under the chin. It was not tightened evenly or as much as it should have been. More skin is loose on the right side.

I'm told the only way to fix the loose skin is more surgery! YIKES!!

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for responding. I am now 4 months into my healing. My husband took photos today so that I have a diary of photos ranging from before to 4 weeks to 2 months to 4 months. The 4 week photos are great because of the swelling. Sounds strange, but it is true. Once the swelling went down, so did the skin! The lumps and bumps are gone, but the loose skin remains. I was encouraged bt what you said about 9 months to a year for healing. I keep hoping the loose skin will tighten, but it hasn't done so at all yet. My surgeon said he can tighten it, the loose skin under my chin, after a year. I dread the thought, but I feel he needs to revise what he did not fix in the first place. It bothers me so much. Actually, I di not have loose skin under the chin before surgery. I had a wobbly neck, not a wobbly chin. I hope you are doing well and are happy with your healing. My best to you!

Face lift
I had surgery 6 weeks ago - the result is great but the areas behind my ears seem to be slow to heal. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm bathing the areas twice a day with dilute Peroxide. Is there any thing else that will speed up the healing?

dear fatface, I don't think you should be using peroxide, diluted or not. Just neosporin would be better, but silicone strips are awesome. get some from your doctor or you can search and buy them online.
