It's been like this with ALL ADD meds I've taken. Riddlin, Concerta, etc. After classes and I finish with my homework or whatever, I get really antsy, can't concentrate on anything, I jump from one thing to another, I feel irritable, impatient, restless and I shake and blink a lot and I can't relax.

Those pills messed me up so bad that now I take a children's medication, which is Daytrana. It released medication through your skin by the way of a patch. It's the only ADD medication that the symptoms haven't been REALLY bad on but it all still makes me all weird and takes a long time to wear off. I'm not even on a high dosage.

Does any one have any idea on how to just relax and not have these symptoms?

Your symptoms are present because of two reason one your diet and your two your social life. The main reason is your diet if you fix that most, maybe even all of your present problem will go away. You see when you eat food that have been stress you are applying the stress to your self. Let me explain what I mean by stress if I take a plant and tie it down I’m apply stress to it because it now state is to go up. When applying heat, microwave, x-ray (which a lot of food companies are doing to their foods now) and chemicals to food these are other methods of stressing food. For the main reason it’s altering it state of being. Foods that are in their natural form have not been stress or have little stress done to them. You have to change your diet if you want to take back control of your body. Your lack in ability to control your body is the respond of the stressed foods you are giving to your self. Stress put you in a state were you are in defense mode so obviously your body is going to want to move it self around because it’s getting ready to defend it self. The bottom line is you have to start eating foods that have not been stress and that are highly energetic. I know it hard to change something your already accustom to do, that was my biggest problem when I decided to change my diet and keep it but if you want help on a shorter quicker way of recovering your health back to balance I would be glad to assist you with any question you have. I can show you natural ways of alleviating your symptoms fast and painless.

I can completely relate. I was dx in graduate school although everyone suspected something was amiss during elementary. I am 33 years old and ADHD wasn't really know as much during that time.

The ADHD meds do the same for me. They do help but also cause the same side effects when they are wearing off. Perhaps an antidepressant or mood stabilizer in addition to the meds would help. The mood stabilizer helped me and I heard some antidepressants helping other people. I was (currently Bfing) on the lowest dose as well.

I was miserable during school because I wasn't on anything else but the Ritalin or Adderal. I would definitely look into getting on something in addition to your medication to ease those symptoms. At least it's worth a try. It did help me considerably.

Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be. Do you notice that sometimes it helps more than other times? Are you always irritable or is it occasionally??

Just curious.

I have a tendency to feel that way too. I take Adderall, and depending on my day, I will have the same symptoms. They are worse if I didnt sleep well the night before. But I can drink a glass of wine in the afternoon, and it makes me calm down. Hope this helps a little...

Look at my posting... It may give you some insight as to why you were reacting this way to your meds... or NOT having the meds...
