Q: can't take the pill but sexually active

ive had one pregnancy scare too many!!
im 18 and im not allowed to take the pill because of something else im taking...

im sexually active but not too often sincee im single. what would be the best type of birth control for me??

because i have no idea.

Well there's always condoms and spermicide, but that's less effective of course.

There are non-estrogen types, like the mini-pill, depo, Mirena, implant, which all use progesterone and probably won't interact with whatever you're taking (but you'd have to check with your doc, of course).

Or non-hormonal types, like the copper IUD (paragard) or barrier methods.

IF you cannot use hormones, the BEST birth control for you would be PARAGARD.

It is a non hormonal IUD, and it does not interact with or interfere with any other medications.

Paragard is a good idea. I just got it because the doctor wanted me off hormones.
