waiting for depo shot after missing

i recently missed my depo shot. the last week i could get it was the last week in november. i have a GYN appt tmrw and i wanted to know what the dangers would be to get the shot before my period came back on. the woman at planned parenthood told me i should wait but didnt give me a reason. i still have not received a period and was wonder why exactly i had to wait? i guees im a little nervous becuase i dont want to "mess" anything up if you know what i mean, i would like to have children in the future. help please!!

Maybe she just wanted to make sure you weren't pregnant? That's all I can think of. It's normal for your period to take a while to return after depo.

I don't really think it's "dangerous"

I'm in a similar boat. I left my prescription up here in NY when I went on vacation in Florida, and my next shot was in December. So I've been off since about Dec 22. I have not gotten a period yet - and that's okay!! It's not "dangerous". Well actually I had some spotting for 2 hours a couple of weeks ago Rolling Eyes I'm just waiting for some money from my parents so I can go buy the next prescription and get it injected. Woo, gotta love that burn...
