i just had my surgery on the 15th of jan
and i'm doing fine. i had laprascopic
surgery and i had to stay over night but
it was because i had a drain tube because
my gb was nested in my liver. but overall
the surgery will definitly help. my
surgery lasted about an hour and a half i
had severe pain when i moved afterwards
but that is normal for the first few hours
i promise the surgery is well worth it and
i had a gallbladder at o% function you are
very lucky that yours is at least working
a little. well i hope everything goes well
let me know how you are feeling afterwards

gall-bladder surgery Posted: 02-01-08 16:37pm
I've had gall-bladder attacks at least
twice a week since Christmas, and finally
had surgery on the 21st of
Jan.......laproscopically. I went in at 8
am and was home by 5 pm. I was really
tired for a few days, but I went back to
work 4 days later. Other than not being
able to lift heavy things, there are no
limitations, and I can EAT again!!!! It's
well worth the trouble. I've heard of
other people having stomach issues after
surgery (diarrhea, etc.), but I've
experienced NON of that.....but I haven't
tried fried foods or really
heavily-saturated fats yet, and I hear
that's usually the problem). Let me know
if you have any more questions!

I hope everything goes well for you
cottoncandy. I am afraid of gallbladder
surgery also. I know of some people who
have had it done and they told me it
wasn't that bad. The surgery wasn't too
bad and they had a pretty quick recovery.
They also claimed they felt so much better
afterwards. I do wish more people who
have had positive outcomes would post.
All we hear about is the ones who have had
problems and it makes the rest of us not
want to get the surgery done. If you feel
that's what you need to do, and you're
feeling very badly, then you just need to
have faith that everything will work out
for the better. Please let us know how
things go for you and how you are doing.

I can relate to that fear. I have surgery
coming up Friday the 8th. After dealing
with gallbladder problems for almost 4
years, I think it's well overdue to come
out.
I tried all of the herbal remedies in a
desperate attempt to avoid surgery, but
this pain has become unbearable. I can see
now that I've just been putting off the
inevitable. The longer you wait, the more
your gallbladder becomes conjested,
infected, and inflamed even if you don't
have stones(like in my case).
