My ears have been stopped up, left ear more so than my right ear. I grew up at around 3500 ft elevation and recently moved to an area around 300 ft elevation. And I work at around a 30 ft elevation. I experience the stopped up ear the most at 300 ft. And it doesn't bother me that much at 30 ft. Over Christmas I visited my family back at 3500 ft, and experienced no stopped up ears at all. I can hold my nose here and blow to try and reduce pressure, but it just makes it worse for a few seconds and goes back to how it was without popping. At 3500 ft, I can do the same but it doesn't stop up the ear for a few seconds, just does nothing. Which makes me think it is a fluid thing.
My question is do you think that is related to the elevation, or to allergies?
I developed allergies in the past 2 years but it only bothers me if I go back to the 3500 ft elevation during the spring/summer months. I don't experience allergies anywhere else, so I don't take allergy medicine.
I've tried Debrox drops to remove any earwax that may have been blocking the ear canals, but that didn't do anything...
