Q: chronic pain in joints feels normal

This is going to sound very strange but it's a very real problem.

Ever since I was a kid, I was led to believe that certain pain/discomfort is "normal" by being told that I was being whiney or that I was trying to find excuses to not go shopping/do things. So much so that I have gotten used to certain "chronic pain" being normal.

Now, I have a very real problem. I am having all kind's of problems with my joints i.e. inflammation, tendinitis, chondromalatia etc...

What is happening, is that I am unable to allways tell health-professionals when and where I have pain as I am so used to it that it feels "normal".

I feel it but it only registers if I think about it long and hard...if that makes any sense at all. "Normal" pain still registers fine. It's just chronic pain that I have gotten used to...

How the heck does that work and how do I get past this?

Not only is it pain related but it also seems to somehow be emotionally related...meaning I have getting used to certain feelings being "normal". I only realised the other day that I have anxiety again...and for the life of me I can't seem to figure out when it had started again.

It's giving me all kinds of problems in trying to explain problems to both my biokineticist and physiotherapist...not to mention their frustration...

This really has me confused and depressed because I don't know what is "Normal" and what is a problem any more. Every time I see a health-professional as of late, it seems they come up with yet another thing that I deem to be "Normal" but which is not supposed to be that way.

If someone has any idea or has similair experience please let me know.

Thanks in advance
