Hello! I've just begun Yaz after being without birth control for about 2 years. My period started 1/17 and ended 1/20, I started Yaz on 1/23 because I thought that you could start whenever you liked as long as you knew you weren't pregnant and used alternate protection for 7 days. Now, I'm thinking I imagined that (or that it was for other BCPs) because I can't find that information in the leaflet or on their website. Will I be protected after 7 days (1/30-1/31)?

Also, I can't find any information as to if Yaz has any interactions with Effexor XR. I take 300mg a day, if that matters at all.

Thanks in advance, I feel silly but I'd rather be safe than not. Embarassed

You are correct! You can start anytime you like, and the you would be protected after 7 days.

It is on the website, but they state it in a way that can be confusing.

Effexor does not interact with birth control.
