It is a picture from the internet but it
is the spitting image of my Bichon Frise
puppy. Her name is Snowy.

We got her at the pet store. I usually
like to get dogs from breeders, but I
couldn't resist her little face.
I have 2 Shelties and 1 little Bichon
Frise. The Shelties are not affectionate,
they don't kiss, etc. They don't even
like to sleep on the bed for very long,
they get hot and jump off. I wanted a
little cuddly lap dog that kisses and is
affectionate. BOY DID I HIT THE
JACKPOT!!!

what does one of those cost? I wanna get
macy a puppy so bad, of course we have to
wait til we get to IL but that looks
perfect. They are both really good with
animals, they sat for 30 mins at a store
in downtown here just softly petting a lil
dog that had to have weighed 6 or 7 lbs.

She was just over $1000 but that's because
pet stores cost more than breeders. at
least around here. Both of my Shelties
are from the same breeder, but one was a
show dog who I bought from them right
before they moved, so I got a good deal,
plus she wan't a puppy. The other Sheltie
we got as a puppy but he is worth every
penny.
He was expensive, but he still cost LESS
than the Bichon because he was from a
breeder.
Shelties are so smart it's almost weird.
My husband talks to them in full sentences
and they listen and then do whatever it
was he told them to do. One time it
happened to me, here is what happened:
I got home and both Shelties were in the
front yard barking at something. I called
them and one came over, I asked him if he
wanted a treat, and I wanted him to go get
the other one, who was still barking at
something. SO I said, :OK, first I need
you to go get Elektra for me." He
galloped pver to her, barked at her, she
stopped barking at whatever it was and
poked her head around the bushes and
looked at me, as if to say, "Yes? You
wanted me?" LOLZZZZZZZZZZ! I told them
both to come in for treats and of course
they responded to that last word.
Suzy can probably tell you how to get the
dog of your choice for very little money,
from rescues, etc. I would not
recommend retired show dogs, just from my
experience. They do not know how to play,
and are very reserved, etc.

Futureshock, how is Snowy doing?
I came home for break and I noticed not
much changed with my dog... although I've
decided that my family is bad at training
dogs too. I don't really like how
affectionate Scooter is-- maybe for awhile
but he's just too much for me. It's like
he's hyped up on crack 24/7 and doesn't
ever settle down.

rofl@ the crack!!!! Snowy is like that
with every person who walks through the
door, for at least 6 minutes. Then she
calms down and goes to play with the other
dogs or goes in for a nap. i LOVE
affectionate doggies.

Those are the Shelties. The Lassie-type
one is Nosy (Nostradamus), and the other
is Elektra.

The problem for me is that my dog doesn't
have other dogs to entertain him then
because he just doesn't settle down. I
mean, when I'm in the mood its fun, but
when I'm getting ready for work and he
thinks I'm playing so he grabs something
and I have to chase him.... thats when I
get angry. And of course he is cute so I
can't really get angry at him and that
just gets me even more annoyed.
haha so I've decided that a bichon is
really not the dog for me.
Your shelties are adorable. I had a friend
who had one and I loved how mellow she
was.

What beautiful dogs you have. You can
tell they are well loved and cared for.
I also loved your avatar of your
granddaughter? on her horse in her riding
habit.
How do you find an avatar to post? I can
download pictures to the site but there
are some pretty amazing avatars on this
forum.
Thanks.

I think, also, my dogs are never alone.
There is always someone home, lol! I
think Bichons really need attention 24/7.

Thank-you for the compliment on the

As my husband and I got older, it seemed
that we became closer and closer to the
values of his parents. Now, as my son and
daughter get older, it is like the same
thing is happening.
I did love the picture of your daughter on
her horse. It is a beautiful animal.
Very graceful. How many hands high?
In reading your words, it just seemed you
were more my age.
Age/experience/wisdom all boil down to
communication with another person with
like views.
