Ok heres the thing i have been with my boyfriend for 20 months now things are great but i have some worries but he says its typical for all men.. after intercourse he well passes out sometimes or parts of his body goes numb or in the past his heart actually stopped or he blacked out i had to catch him.. I'm scared but he always just doesnt want to talk about it.. He always gets blinding headaches sometimes after and well loses all desire to be touched.. Is that normal cause honestly it doesnt to me.. Has anyone else gone through this or can anyone give me some advice on how to approach him on my worries..
You're right, it's not normal. Generally men may feel drowsy after having sex and are more likely to fall asleep before women but this has nothing to do with going numb, blacking out or your heart stopping.
i didnt think it was normal and its happend more then once also... i'm just not sure what to do about it.. he wont go see a dr about it and doesnt really want to talk about it with me.. maybe hes hiding a condition he already knows about?
wow, this definately needs to be checked out by a doctor! i'm not sure what kind of condition he could be hiding from you, but why would he do that? you've been together long enough that he shouldn't feel embarrassed about discussing it with you. and he certainly shouldn't be hiding things from you.
I agree he needs to see the dr maybe ask atleast.. I dont know though it hasnt happend in awhile which is a relief. Well we dont always talk about everything i dont think hes hiding i just dont think he likes talking about medical stuff i worry to much and he knows it.. Next time it does happen i am going to have a firm talk to him about it i dont like it it scares me i love him to much to lose him.
Yea seriously.. its weird.... i might have to do that though lately we havent been doing much his schedule is insane because of all the holidays and everything.. they got new accounts so hes working.. Last saturday was the first time i got to see him in like 3 weeks.. I know its dangerous.. thats why if it does happen again i/m going to make sure he sees a dr. it scares me.. Like i said it hasnt happend in along time so maybe he has talked to a dr... i mentioned it alot before so he might just have gone..
Does he have high blood pressure and/or unhealthy blood sugar levels. Either of these would be the most likely culprit. Another cause could be a heart murmur or irregular heartbeat. Inappropriate blood sugar levels can also cause irregular heartbeat and a "fluttering" feeling of the heart.
One time, at school, I had not eaten anything all day and had not slept either, I drank a Mountain Dew which has a good amount of caffeine and sugar, which caused me to feel my heart kind of "flutter", or beat very irregularly and sometimes skip beats. I started tingling and going numb, so I went for a walk and it eventually went away.
My point is that any of those conditions are quite serious, and if they are recurring, they need medical attention. He should get a physical and a blood test, and he should tell the doctor what the problem is.
No he had a blood test and everything done i think last month everything is ok.. I know when he was younger he mentioned he got hit in the head with a rock it dented his skull maybe it damaged more then they thought? could that be a factor?
Maybe a clot or something building i dunno i know he is going to the dr next week i kinda nagged him.. He doesnt like being nagged thats why i said kinda.. just told him i love him and he needs to take care of himself.. his arm, neck and shoulder have been bugging him so he agreed i told him to have a the other stuff checked too he said fine
I am a neuro ICU RN. You need to tell your bf to go to the doc and tell him/her everything. A neurologist would be ideal. This could be serious and may be life threatening. Cerebral aneurysms can cause many of those symptoms. He needs to get to a doc and have a CT scan.
It could also be a vasovagal response to orgasm. This is when a person bears down and this causes pressure on the vegas nerve which can cause someone to pass out.
Passing out is dangerous for obvious reasons. Tell him to get to a doc.
