For the last few days, more large, painful, red bumps have appeared around my vagina. I've been messing around with the same guy, but it has been over a month now since we had sex (my first and only). I read that small bumps can be caused from shaving, but mine are large and extremely painful to the point where I dread urinating. Is it possible that it is an STD or is it most likely just a bad reaction to shaving in that area?

That is herpes. A STD. GO to the doctors you can go to the ER if you dont have a doc. You will get meds that will clear it up quickly but you need to get educated. You have it forever and can always spread make sure youf BF knows and if he wont be open about it be open about it for him he can go on to infect a lot of people not telling them.
And dont be scared but do get help asap.
