Numb?
Posted: 01-26-08 00:19am

For the past month or so, the outside of my upper right thigh often becomes numb and feels like there is cold air blowing on it. Do you think it's pregnancy related? I keep forgetting to talk to my doctor about it when I go in, but I think I'm going to call tomorrow.

Another thing that happens a lot is my ankles and lower calves get purplish red and have white spots on them. I don't know why. I think I should be sitting with my feet up more.

hum never experienced the cold numbness that i can recall.
the discoloration can be from bad circulation, steven says it can be due to low iron. have you had blood work done? i cant remember. or ya prop your feet up that should help too.

Yep I've had both happen to me. I believe the numbness is from carpal tunnel and the spots is probably what Steven said...low iron.

I have had blood work done, but it was for downs testing and stuff so I don't know if they could tell me about low iron.

And I didn't know you could get carpal tunnel in your legs Shocked

I don't know if I have bad circulation. It could be that. My hands are really hot a lot of the time, though. Like tingly hot.

I think they would have told you if you were anemic, but you would have to know if they ran a CBC (complete blood count) in order to know what your red blood cells were at.

My feet would always turn purple and have white spots on them but I was anemic, so I figured it was that causing it. Who knows.

Oops, I meant the numbness is from sciatica (sp?). Also, I just read that poor circulation can cause changes in skin color and skin temperature, so maybe that's what's happening. I'd bring it up to your doctor next time.

Holy balls...I didn't realize it was 1:30 AM hahaha. I got out of work at 11:30 so I guess that's why. And I slept until 12:30 today.
