go to the doctors as soon as you get a chance but dont panic if you have had this for a year your probs not in any immediate danger i would bet most of that comes with anxiety ive had face pain, arm pains, chest pains, and palpatations as well as face crawling sensations tingling in hands feet all sorts of really powerful feelings you wouldnt dream you could have with out dieing so keep calm but do go to doctors to rule out other stuff plus there awesome treating heart troubles these days take care

Yes, take responsible for what is going on and go for a full check up. Whatever the results are, just stay calm and accept the way it is and the way it is not. Next step is what action can you take and willing to take to make adjustments. The bottom line is are you ready to take charge of your health and yr life?

Look back at the things/actions you have done or not done that could contribute to this. Eg. bad eating habits, eating "wrong" food, sleep late, not enough fresh air, stress at work/relationships, too much coffee,etc.. See if you can reduce or stop whatever is contributing to the problems.

You post the same thing over and over, jodie I would look into personality disorders some kind where you are looking for attention or OCD , hypochondria. Get on meds or get counseling for you anxiety. Its a disorder and your obviously obsessing over this no one can help you. You claim to have gone to the doctors so I dont get it whats the deal they told you what you have. Try treatment for anxiety and it will probably relieve what you think is your heart.

Uh No it can be any illness you "think" you have

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypochondria

Hypochondriasis (or hypochondria, sometimes referred to as health anxiety/health phobia) refers to an excessive preoccupation or worry about having a serious illness. Often, hypochondria persists even after a physician has evaluated a person and reassured him/her that his/her concerns about symptoms do not have an underlying medical basis or, if there is a medical illness, the concerns are far in excess of what is appropriate for the level of disease. Many people suffering from this disorder focus on a particular symptom as the catalyst of their worrying, such as gastro-intestinal problems, palpitations, or muscle fatigue.

The DSM-IV-TR defines this disorder, “Hypochondriasis,” as a somatoform disorder[1] and one study has shown it to affect about 3% of the population.[2]

Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body. Many individuals with hypochondriasis express doubt and disbelief in the doctors' diagnosis, and report that doctors’ reassurance about an absence of a serious medical condition is unconvincing, or un-lasting. Many hypochondriacs require constant reassurance, either from doctors, family, or friends, and the disorder can become a disabling torment for the individual with hypochondriasis, as well as his or her family and friends. Some hypochondriacal individuals are completely avoidant of any reminder of illness, whereas others are frequent visitors of doctors’ offices. Other hypochondriacs will never speak about their terror, convinced that their fear of having a serious illness will not be taken seriously by those in whom they confide.

You have gone to the doctor and they told you it was anxiety and your heart is fine. You are choosing to not listen to them.

I know what your going through
Hi Hun, I'm new to this site and felt I had to reply to your post. I have suffered with panic/anxiety attacks for nine years. I also suffer with all the symptoms of pain that you described. You do need to get checked out but I personally think its due to your anxiety. I have seen specialists and have started to try and cope with my illness. Don't listen to people who say its all in your head, I used to listen to comments like that all the time and it just makes you feel worse about yourself. Some people are very insensitive especailly when they haven't gone through what you have. Feel free to contact me, I'd love to know how you get on. xx

just4this what?
I accidentally came across this blog and WOW... Just4this, your tactics are immature. Look at what is stated. She was diagnosed with Anxiety. This does not RULE out medical conditions. Not once is there reference to a medical doctor saying "it is not medical." Anxiety is also a normal reaction to stress. So until a full medical work up is complete and the patient is assured by a medical doctor that these pains are not life threatening, his or her anxiety may be elevated. If after the medical examinations are complete and there is persistent feelings of uncertainty, then it might be safe to understand your copy and paste job you posted about hypochondrias. I work in this field so I felt compelled to reply. So keep your chin up Jodie and do what you feel is best for you and Kudos to you beastsbeauty for being a productive member of society and helping another person out. Surprised)

Chest Pain/Arm pain
Hello Everyone
I have had Lower Jaw Pain, Shoulder Blade Pain, Chest Aches And Pains, Arm Pains for a number of years now. I am very often too scared to do anything too physical for fear of just collapsing and dying. I have had numerous tests for heart & lung problems, but all have come back fine and I still find it hard to shake this fear. Comments from persons like Just4this are typically narrow minded views of people who have no idea what it is like to go through these constant pains which quite often seem to come out of nowhere without any stress or anxiety attached to them. I have quite often had these pains when I have felt totally relaxed and for some strange reason they seem to be worse in cold weather. Does any else have this cold weather problem?

Me toooooooooo
I have had this problem in cold weather.....it aggravates in cold weather...this is all so much true and ppl dont understand what we go through. I have seen the pains subsiding when we do not think about it so much...sometimes i feel like crying loud but common sense prevails and i get back to normalcy. Stress at work adds to this plus the posture definitely aggravates this I am sure.....it is so much so that i sometimes start meditating with a view to get rid of these pains.

get it checked out, but don't stress about it
Go see a doctor, definitely. Nothing is likely to happen if you have been having symptoms for a while. Determine in advance if you are going to believe the doctor you are seeing. Make sure you can trust him - do some research on his/her education, etc. Then describe your symptoms and listen. If you want testing and they don't suggest it, tell them. Try to stay calm. Even if it is not primarily anxiety, that would make it worse.

Chest, back, arm, jaw pain...anxiety???
I have been struggling with (regularly, but not daily) chest, jaw and arm pain for the last 2 years. I have has 2 CT Angiograms, 2 Heart Caths, 2 Echo's, Ultrasound, Stress test, countless EKG's, tons of blood work and the list could go on.
Long story medium length, the only thing found was elevated blood pressure(140/85) which I now take meds for and it is back to 110/65, and I have a myocardial bridge which is not restricting blood flow and is considered benign.
My Cardiologist(s), Family Doctor, Dr(s) from 5 ER visits, friends and family (especially my wife) think it is anxiety.
The problem I have with it is the discomfort just started two years ago and stay even when I feel relaxed. Some days are better than others. I am taking Xanax and now seeing a counselor.
I pray for each one of you who struggle in this way because it is frustrating, makes you feel crazy and zaps the joy of life. The question of is it mental or physical drives me crazy (so I guess it is somewhat mental.)

hi
try the linden method it's the only way to cure anxiety. Stop researcing you sensations, not symptoms they are just sensations nothing more. The key to getting rid of un nessary anxiety is distraction, take up more hobbies, don't give yourself (mindspace) time when you are fueling this bad habit.

hi i am 24 and i have recently encountered chest pain and left arm pain i went to the dr and they did every test known to man on my heart and lungs and there is "nothing wrong" and i too was diagnosed with high blood pressure and i keep an eye on it every day. however i know its sound crazy but the more i check it the more it goes up due to my panic attacks . you might want to check and see if you have muscle or cirulation problems b cuz i really believe that it mite be one or the other. i panic also. some days i panic so bad that it makes me sick to my stomach and i throw up. but just as i saw mentioned before u have to keep your mind busy. but thank God that my mom has anxiety to because i call her about anything when im in that panicky state and i trust her and she tells me exactly what is going on and i dont have to even tell her the whole story on why i am panicing. but good luck and it is hard to deal with anxiety on a day to day basis believe me i know.

chest, arm and neck pain
susana75

I read all the postings and I happened to read them as I was trying to find answers to my problems. I have the same symptoms as all of you and I also am always thinking I will die of a heart attack. These thoughts depress me even more. I do feel tension and so much anxiety, constantly checking things, cleaning repeatedly, and many more things. I am so scared but have no health insurance so I see no doctors. Those who laugh at this, please think twice, I don't wish this upon you or anyone else, it takes time away from my children and I hate that!
