I start college in September and I'm going
to become a teacher. Probably 2 or 3rd
grade. It's been my dream since I was
younger so I'm doing it.
Are there any teachers on here?? I'm
pretty sure Besty is one. What exactly do
you go to school for?? Is it easy to find
a teaching job or diffcult??
I just want to know a little about it
before I do it

That's great that you want to become a
teacher. I have to tell you though that
it is a long process. You will need to
get your bachelors degree first (it used
to be that you had to get it in Liberal
Arts, but the criteria was recently
changed, so you can get your BA or BS in
whatever you choose). After that you will
need to apply for the multiple subject
credential program, which is 10 months of
student teaching and what not. Before you
can actually graduate from the teaching
program you will need to pass the CBEST
and CSET tests (you can google it and you
will find sample questions to study).

needs more teachers and if this has been
your passion since you were a child, then
I'm sure you will be a great teacher!
I have no idea how
to get started though.
