Okay, well, here's the deal.. I'm fifteen and scared to tell my mother that I have lice AGAIN.. I've had it for quite a while, and I don't want to put the burden on her of standing for a long time very often with her bad back.
I have long (down to my lower back) hair, that is very thick and I just don't know what to do.. We've been trying since I got it in the seventh grade (I'm in second semester of 9th now) and thought we nipped it last time, but they started showing up about four to five months ago.

See the problem is, since I have long tedious thick hair, it's nearly impossible to get all the knits out. I want to get it cut and thinned but because any stylist who did it would lose their license if they even touched my hair with the scissors, that is completely impossible. Then, even if we got everything out of my hair, we have the bedding, furniture my clothes, etc. that is a HUGE problem. How am I ever supposed to get everything off of that? We've tried the RID or whatever spray (as well as the cheap equate bedding spray) with no success.

Please help me, I'm terribly tired of having this nuscense living in my hair and in my house and not being able to thin my terrible thick hair!!!

OH, and I forgot to mention, I have cats so any sprays must be fairly safe.
(But if not possible, that's what cat carriers are for.)

I'm sorry I don't know a whole lot about lice, but you need to tell your mother anyway, even if you don't want to be a burden. Lice is contagious, so it is important that you let her know so that she doesn't pick up any herself.

If I was you, I would first get rid of the cats. They probably carry a lot of things with them and don't help the situation. It won't help to clean up your house until you have fixed the initial problem: the source is your hair and scalp. You should cut your own hair. Go very short and don't worry too much about style: you can have that fixed once the danger is gone. Then you should be able to wash your hair properly. I believe there are shampoos in addition to sprays that can get rid of lice. The problem is not your hair, it is your scalp where the lice are, the hair is just blocking it.

You can actually seek the help of a medical professional to help you get rid of the pests, and they can prescribe a prescription strength product, and also give you tips on what to do with your house, your toiletries (like your brushes), and how to take care of your scalp so that you don't get them again.

Best of luck to you, and I hope this has helped.
