Is anyone else watching Oprah?
She's interviewing Daniel Day Lewis & I was sitting here thinking

"Holy moses, he looks so much like Heath Ledger!"

& then he almost starts crying & says he just heard the news & that he wants to apologize to his family, ect ect. I just thought that was so amazing, they look so much alike & then he brings it up & almost starts crying infront of everyone!

I don't know why that amazed me, but it did.
Sorry if people are tired of hearing about it but I'm still really upset.
Its horrible.

It's horrible, but I don't understand why this is SO MUCH more of a big deal than when any other famous person dies. I never hear about him other than now, and everyone's freaking out because he has been in like what? Two major films? Three?

Major films have nothing to do with it, you feel how you feel. I'm still really sad about it too. I named my youngest son after him, i'm still pretty shocked.

It's because he wasn't surrounded by any type of drama. He seemed to be a well-rounded guy. He was a doting dad & was at the top of his game- he was just starting to take off again. He's been in quite a few films & just wrapped up Batman playing the Joker..

It just happened 2 days ago, so the shock is still pretty fresh.

It's really sad.

I'm upset because I think he was an amazing actor and I loved him.
Everyone went crazy when Anna Nicole Smith died, so I do think it's just as big of a deal when another famous person dies.

I think they're freaking out because it's so sudden & nobody expected it, plus he has a young daughter. It's not like he was some druggie and always in the public doing stupid things like Lindsay Lohan or something, so I think it was just really unexpected.

I think it's horrible. & he was in 28 or 29 films, not that that matters.

Just because he wasn't in dozens of multi-million dollar movies.. Does that mean it's less sad, Katie? Confused

Okay okay, this isn't why I posted this freaking thread lol

We were just kind of shocked at your approach. It's always sad when someone dies suddenly, no matter WHO it is.

forget it.

I'm just stating a fact that usually when actors are in more films, people freak out.

If it wasn't someone famous, nobody would care.

It was just so unexpected and shocking. Brad Renfro died this month also, he was only 25, i'm sad about that also but not as shocked since he had a publicly known problem with heroine.

If it wasn't someone famous 90% of us probably wouldn't know.

Lol, Katie, you just sound super insensitive right now.

Of course if he wasn't famous, nobody would care, because we wouldn't KNOW. But if somebody died unexpectedly at your school that you'd seen around & knew who it was, wouldn't you be shocked & sad? Even if you didn't know them personally? Of course you would. It's the same concept.

I was watching the news earlier and they said that they couldn't tell? So I guess they're waiting on other things.

Also, one of the cops that went to the scene said that there were NO pills "strewn" (is that a word?) across the room, they were in a bottle next to him, they were not everywhere.

I don't know why people have to make things up!
& I think I see a resemblence because he had long hair in "ten things I hate about you" & they have the same face shape.

The autopsy came up inconclusive.
I just saw on the news the real cause of death
may not be known for a few more days, at least.
