Q: Marijuana as sexual enhancer for men?

What are your opinions on this? I'd like to hear them.

It can be an excellent enhancer. Elevating the heart-beat slightly and delaying orgasm, some men have the best sex using marijuana. Others report opposite effects in that it might leave one too lazy or anxious to perform. Any insights?

I prefer sex with people who are not high, personally. Regardless of performance, I think that there is more connection without drugs.

I'd agree. I'm not straight-edge or anything because I occasionally have a drink of alcohol and I drink soda and take asprin and that kind of thing, but I'd never want to have sex while drunk, and I'd never have sex with someone who was high. I wouldn't even DATE a pot-head!

Perhaps it is unfair to compare someone under the influence of maijuana to someone who is intoxicated by alcohol. Alcohol is a powerful, mood-altering and potentially addictive substance. The effects of marijuana are quite different. Someone who is "stoned" cannot be defined as intoxicated because marijuana has an incredibly low level of toxicity (lower than soda or aspirin even).

A wider scope of opinion is needed here because, with all due respect, both replies so far seem to be steeped in a socio-political ideology which is completely irrelevant to the point I bring up. Sexual enhancement using various drugs (legal or illegal) is a very common practice in many societies and in many walks of life. Some people have very few taboos regarding sex under the influence of various psychoactives because they are experienced in this field and do not abide by the belief that when someone uses said substance, that person is controlled by that substance.

Obviously I'm not suggesting that anyone should be forcing sex upon themselves if uncomfortably altered, this question is directed at responsible, moderate drug users/experimenters.

Marijuana is just as psychologically addictive as alcohol is. Driving when high is still driving "under the influence".

This has nothing to do with psychological addiction (which is not only dependant on personality type but also on purely subjective definition) or driving.

You completely missed my point if that's what you think I meant with my post.

1. You claim alcohol as a drug that is "as bad" or worse than marijuana, yet is legal. The way you phrased your claim, it seemed as if you were trying to say that alcohol is addictive and marijuana is not.
FACT: Both alcohol and marijuana are psychologically addictive.

2. You also seem to be claiming that being high does not change your senses or affect the way you perceive the world - again, "unlike alcohol".
FACT: Both marijuana and alcohol impair the senses and can cause an altered sense of judgment and personal control.

You're trying to say that marijuana isn't impairing and isn't addictive when it is in both cases. And I've already said that I do not approve of severe intoxication no matter WHAT the source. I'm not bashing marijuana specifically, however I will not stand for people glorifying the inhaled version of alcohol. Yes, it affects the body and mind differently, but that doesn't make it "better".

Marijuana isn't physically addictive and the point about impairing is irrelevant because all human thought processes are capable of altering judgements. Marijuana use does not promote violent, irrational behaviour typically. Neither does alcohol in all cases. It depends on individual neurochemistry, genetics, dosage and environmental conditions. But one would be foolish to simply classify a drug that kills thousands of people a year against a drug that has never killed anyone throughout its history of use. Only a cretin would not be able to see the distinction, that or someone with a bias.

Regardless of that entire side of the argument, as I said, this is more about people who have made the conscious choice to use marijuana, not people with no experience of it who disapprove.

I never said marijuana was physically addicive, so why are you bringing that up?

You're obviously brainwashed. I'm done with this. Saying impairment is irrelevant is just the words of a druggie, to me.

Well I think physical addiction is a more important factor than psychological addiction. Television is psychologically addictive, does that mean we should ban it or frown upon those who watch it? That's why I bring it up. The only relevant addiction is physical. Any other addiction is habitual. There's a massive difference.

Impairment is irrelevant in this scenario because people choose to have sex under the influence of various drugs. And what is this about being a druggie? I have never touched a drug in my life, not even booze, so don't try that line of reasoning with me. It's quite ironic for you to say that I'm "obviously brainwashed" when you know nothing about me. I introduce a new concept, you denounce it like we lived in the Middle Ages and that you're quoting religious doctrine. That seems a lot more brainwashed to me.

Well, you seem to have nicely sapped the life out of this thread before anyone can even honestly partake in it. Thank you very much.

I guess for some people it works. Alcohol does not work for me. Marijuana might as well work as a sugar pill =)

i've never had sex stoned cos i rarely rarely (almost never) smoke it, but when my boyfriend has been smoking it, the sex is amazing. He says it makes him feel so much more relaxed and it focuses his mind so he doesn't get distracted. sex when he is high is very intense and very passionate.

My bf smokes it also, but i couldn't say that we have ever had intercourse right after. I know he does it sometimes afterwards becuase an O wakes him up and puts me to sleep. So with him smoking it it helps to put him to sleep also.

Pot can lower your inhibitions, which is why sex feels better, because you "let go" more easily.

Wouldn't you be more proud of yourself if you could let go without having to get high?

Many would argue that cannabis actually increases inhibitions, especially in unfamiliar company and surroundings. Therefore cannabis is used as a sex enhancer primarily because it increases physical sensitivity and can be used to delay or extend orgasm. It has nothing to do with preying on the vulnerable generally.

I can't possibly see how sex would be better if I were freaked out.

It may feel better at the moment, because you're all more relaxed.
But THC messes up blood circulation to all extremities. Such as, yeah, your penis.
So after sometime the difference may be small, but still something. It doesn't get hard to it's potential. Also, in women, the blood doesn't flow as freely as a drug free life style to the area, weakening sensation.
