Q: Luke Pictures! and a question..

I haven't put up pictures of Luke lately so here are a few from the past few weeks.

"Mommy, would you let me eat my peas in peace please?"

I am not crazy about this pic but I love his outfit!

"Hello!"

Sitting big!

I think he's had enough!

Here's my question.

For the past month or so Luke has been sleeping through the night. However, the last few nights he hasbeen wakingup every few hours to eat a bottle then go to sleep. Furthermore, the last month or so he will take a hour nap in the morning and then a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. The last few days I am lucky if he stays asleep for a half hour!

I haven't changed anything! His gums aren't swollen so I don't think that he is teething. I have no idea what he is doing! Here's his normal schedule
7.30-wake up
8.00-bottle
9.30-nap, one hour
11.00-cereal and bottle
12.00-nap 2 hours
2.30- carrots and bottle
5.00-bottle and sometimes a 20 mintue nap
8.30- bottle and then bedtime
1.00am-bottle and then right back to sleep
7.30-wake up and start a new day

I worked so hard to get him on this schedule! Is there something wrong with it because now he is acting all strange?!

I can't see the pics, but...

Cheyenne has been the same way with her sleeping. We haven't changed a thing either. She was doing SOO good sleeping through the night for a few weeks, then all of a sudden started getting up again.

He's soooo cute!!!

I love that outfit tooooo!!! AHHH!!

Did his schedule change AT ALL when he was sick?? That happens A LOT! They get sick, and their thrown off for ONE day, and that's it. You need to start alllll over!!

I'm not really sure what to suggest besides maybe upping his solids before he goes to bed so he won't have the urge to wake up..

Or maybe instead of giving him formula, you could give him water. He'll more than likely not like it and just go back to sleep.

If you give him formula, he'll make it a POINT to wake up every night JUST to get the milk! But if he realizes all he'll get is water, he might not even bother!

I thought about giving him water but after everybody jumped on me about giving him water I was scared I could cause damage to his little system. You are the second person to mention giving him water though.

You know what, his schedule might have changed when he was sick. I do remember that he was good until I took him to the doc and they made me give him treatments every 3 hours instead of letting him sleep through the night.

I guess I am going to start all over again!

Dani, he eats about 8 ounces at a time. He also eats a thing of carrots/peas and some cereal.

Thanks as well! I think he is cute too Smile

Terra, people here and in our everyday lives feel that what THEIR Dr says is the ONLY way to raise a child. Ya know? Heaven forbid another Dr have a different outlook on the well being of a child...
It's basically where the term "2nd opinion" comes from...but when it comes to kids, people forget about that and refer to the internet to raise their kids.

I would def give him water at night, he won't be as quick to wake up if he knows he isn't gonna get milk. He'll prob think "man, she'll just give me water...why bother??" lol!

def try it out.

Thanks guys! Sarah, I tried the water thing last night but I think that he was genuinely tired. He threw such a fit!

I am going to try the water thing again tonight if he wakes up after 4 hours. I am going insane here and really need some sleep!

How old is he?
Ava slept through the night until she was 4 months. She was teething, got sick, and got her shots. All of those factors made her start waking up at night again. We just dealt with waking up 3 times a night until she was 9 months and we couldn't function. We decided on a gentle form of sleep training.

I'm glad the water worked!
I love the tie!

He is sooooo cute!I love that little outfit,so adorable!

Has he started doing anything new lately?Like rolling over, making a new noise or something?Sometimes when babies start a new developmental stage they begin waking more at night.

How old is he now?A lot of people find when their baby is around 4 months old they start waking in the night, after having slept thru previously. Not sure why.

A lot of people recommend giving water instead of formula,so the baby doesnt think there's anything exciting to wake up for,so why bother!lol

It's not going to hurt anyway and hopefully will work.

Goodluck! My little girl is 7 months old and still wakes 3 times a night!lol
