I have just obtained the pill from my doctor agin after a break of 8years. Having read the instructions, it says to wait until the first day of my next period to start. However, my period just ended on Saturday and I was wondering if I started taking it now, would I still have immediate protection???

You don't have to wait, but you will NOT have immediate protection. You will have to use protection for 7 days. That's not so long, is it? Smile Every month after this of course you'll be protected the whole time.
