I went in for my glucose test today, so of course I quit eating at about 11 last night. Didn't get to sleep until about 2am and the alarm went off at 7:15am for my 8am appointment.

BP couldn't be better (122/80) Very Happy And I've lost 3lbs yes down to 220.5.

So they took my blood from my right arm like they normally do (I think my vein is easier to find on that side). Then gave me a wonderful orange drink and it was pretty good but SUGARY! lol. I'm drinking it and Earl asks what it is. I said "basically sugar water with flavor and coloring." "Oh, it's Kool-aid" Laughing I love him. Sad part is, he's right lol.

So doc comes and measures my stomach for the first time. 28cm yes So according to my actual last period (it was the 9th, for some reason I told them 17th) I'm RIGHT on schedule. My U/S said I measured a week ahead as well, so it definitely ases my mind knowing I'm right on schedule Laughing

But after a LONG HOUR (mind you we are both exhausted from basically staying up all night) I go back in and the draw my blood from my left arm. All's good until I take my jacket off halfway home and my shirt has blood on it! Turns out for some reason it just BLED! And it's swollen and bruised, but she was SO GENTLE! my body doesn't like someone taking from it! I also think she missed the vein or went all the way through because there's no reason it should be this swelled and sore to the touch!! my right arm's FINE. GRR

OUCH!!!

When I was preggers with Oni, the stupid girl must have gone through to my muscle, cuz I couldn't move my arm for the rest of the day!!! I was sooo petrified to ever get my blood taken again!!!

I'm glad all is good with baby!!!!! And that you're right on schedule!!!

that's not a vein!!! why did they put it in your wrist? I've never heard of that... either top of hand or bend in the elbow (like 10yrs ago, but still)

That's where they put MY IV after I had Oni. That is a vein. Maybe even an artery.

I had this nurse come in and tell me I had a 103 and climbing fever and that I NEEDED an IV for antibiotics. So she starts doin it in my right arm. Like the MIDDLE of my arm. And she could NOT get it...she was sitting there goin in and out, in and out, and wriggling it allll around.
In the meantime she was calling for someone from anisthesia to come do it. I was like "you can REALLY stop...I'll just wait for the other lady..."

I had people in my room visiting and she was just sitting there putting me through hell!! I finally yanked my arm and was like "you can REALLLLY stop now..."

The other lady came in, gave me a shot in my wrist, under my thumb, and had the IV in less than 20 seconds.

gotta love the anesthesiologist. She was the only one who could get it in my sister's hand (nurse tried 4 times!) I think everyone on here has a nurse they hate! why does it seem they don't care for the patient? they just act like you're another 'experiment' they can play with?
