when to start birth control ?
Posted: 01-22-08 15:00pm

I need help on when to start birth control. I started my period on Friday January 18th. It ended early yesterday morning (Monday January 21st). I was just able to buy my prescription today the 22nd (FEMCON 28 ). Is it ok for me to start the 1st pill today and do I need a back up method (or do i have to wait until sunday according to directions packet)?

If it were me, I would wait until Sunday like the package suggests. You will still need to use a back up method of birth control for 2 weeks.

Start now. Today. Whenever you want. Because it is more than 3 days since the start of your period you will not be safe immediately. You will need to use protection, HOWEVER you only need to wait ONE week, not two.
