head sensitive during stimulation

During both intercourse and masturbation, at intervals (but every time I have sex or masturbate) the head of my penis will become almost painfully sensitive for a short time and all pleasure from the experience will stop (so much so that even if I continue intercourse my erection begins to slightly lessen). If I stop intercourse or masturbation for a short time (~10-20 seconds) it will stop being sensitive and pleasure will return, but the sensitivity will inevitably come back during the experience (depending on how long it goes on).

While this is obviously not life threatening, it can make for some uncomfortable/awkward moments during intercourse.

I am in my late 20s and sexually experienced, and circumsized (I don't know if it is relevant, but my frenulum is intact).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

actually- its normal
some people can go for orgasm after orgasm, but most people after one have to stop because they become too sensitive
this happens to both male and female

as long as you dont have any pain then its normal. but if you ever have pain during sex or anything you should go see a dr

I understand that oversensitivity is normal after orgasm. But this is pre-orgasm. It will happen a few times during sex/masturbation, and I am able to achieve orgasm normally, but the sensitivity I am describing comes before the orgasm. Sorry for being unclear.

And thanks for your quick response.

Not a problem, grateful for the help.

It's been happening for as long as I can recall (but that doesn't mean that it's always been like this - I just don't recall when it started, but several years ago).

The only thing I can think of, and this is of course pure speculation, is that I masturbate in a non-traditional fashion (I use three fingers at the base of the head of the penis over my remaining foreskin, with the middle finger positioned at the bottom of the head, one on the left side and another on the right side and then move them up and down - not sure if this description is helpful at all).

Other than that, I have no idea.

but if it was pure speculation you'd think it would only occur during masturbation and not intercourse?

the only thing i can really find on it is the developing of PE (or premature ejaculation)

Yes, it occurred to me that it would only happen during masturbation, although after reading through this forum i'm wondering whether this method may cause something similar to TME (but once again, pure speculation).

I've never had a problem with premature ejaculation - in fact, during intercourse it can take me a good while to ejaculate.

You could try wearing thicker condoms. I never use the darn things because my glans (the head) isn't sensitive due to a foreskin condition I need to fix in a few months, but they definitely reduce sensitivity in that area from my experience.

Wow same here man
I didn't think anyone experienced the same issue. People look at me dumbfounded when I try to explain. But for me. It's very sensitive all the time. It just started like 7 months ago. I've been locked up until a month ago. Haven't had sex yet. I'm actually quite nervous to. I'm scared I won't enjoy it. But when I take care of business. If you know what I mean. Its very uncomfortable. It thrusts and contracts when the head is rubbed. But when I came close to having sex. It didnt seem to bother me. I dont know man. It sucks a lot and it angers me off.
